The Chocolate Sundae at Hungry Jack's is $6.05 and 2,227 kJ. Soft serve in a cup with chocolate sauce through it, and it is the middle of the sundae range on energy.
The sundae format does something a cone cannot. Sauce poured over a cone runs off; sauce in a cup pools at the bottom and gets layered through as you eat, so the last spoonful is as good as the first. That is the entire argument for the cup.
At 2,227 kJ it carries nearly three times a Soft Serve Cone at 790 kJ, which is a bigger jump than the sauce alone explains. The portion of soft serve is larger as well.
Chocolate is the middle option of the three sundaes: Strawberry at 2,097 kJ is the lightest and Caramel at 2,285 kJ the heaviest. All three cost $6.05.
Who it suits: anyone who wants a proper dessert rather than something to eat walking. It is also the most shareable dessert on the menu, since a cup and two spoons works.
