The Hungry Jack's App and Shake & Win
What the app actually does, how Shake & Win works, and the two timers that decide whether you keep your prize. Plus the thing worth knowing before you install it: ordering in the app does not make the regular menu cheaper.
Shake & Win: The Two Timers
A game on the Hungry Jack's App that awards a prize every day. One shake per day, and you win something every time — the variable is what, not whether.
The two timers are what actually matter. Once a prize appears you have 30 seconds to accept it, which is short enough that reading the screen properly is the whole skill. Once accepted, you have 30 minutes to use it in a restaurant.
Which leads to the only real tactic here: do not shake at home. Shaking on the couch burns the day's prize on a 30-minute window you will not be in a restaurant for. Shake in the car park, or in the queue.
Prizes are drawn against the store you have selected, so pick the restaurant you are actually standing near. Find your restaurant here.
Setting the App Up
Download the app
Search "Hungry Jack's" on the App Store or Google Play. It needs iOS 13.0+ (iPhone 8 or newer) or Android 8.1+ — older phones will not run it.
Create an account and complete your profile
Register with an email address. Fill in the profile completely, date of birth included: that is what triggers the free Whopper voucher on your birthday, and it is issued on the day itself rather than when you enter it.
Pick your restaurant
Choose the store you actually visit. Deals and participation are per restaurant across the 489 in Australia, so the offers you see change with the store you select.
Shake once a day
Open Shake & Win and shake the phone. One shake per day, a prize every time. You have 30 seconds to accept the prize and 30 minutes to use it once accepted.
Order ahead if your store supports it
Pre-ordering has a $1.00 minimum spend and is not available everywhere. Pre-ordering prices are exactly the same as counter prices.
Device requirements and prize timings are Hungry Jack's own published figures.
What Is Actually App-Only
5 deals exist inside the app and nowhere else. Everything else on the menu is the same price at the counter — pre-ordering prices are exactly the same as counter prices.

Round Up for Make-A-Wish
Since 2025, Hungry Jack's has offered a round-up donation: customers can round their purchase up to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to make-a-wish. It is entirely optional and available at the register, drive-thru, kiosk, mobile app.
Hungry Jack's App Questions
Yes, on both the App Store and Google Play. It needs iOS 13.0+ (iPhone 8 or newer) or Android 8.1+. There is no subscription and no paid tier — the app makes its money by getting you into a restaurant, not out of you.
A game on the Hungry Jack's App that awards a prize every day. You get one shake per day. Once a prize appears you have 30 seconds to accept it, and then 30 minutes to redeem it in a restaurant — which is the part that catches people out. Do not shake until you are close to the store.
No, and Hungry Jack's says so directly: "Pre-ordering prices are exactly the same as counter prices." The app saves you money through its 5 exclusive deals and the daily Shake & Win prize, not through a discount on the regular menu. All the current deals are here.
Not everywhere — pre-ordering is store by store, and a number of restaurants do not offer it. There is a $1.00 minimum spend when it is available. The app will tell you as soon as you pick a store; every restaurant has its own page here.
Yes. Hungry Jack's states that "All our standard food items have a KJ rating." Every standard item carries a kJ figure in the app, the same way it does on the menu boards. If you want to add a whole meal up before you order, the kilojoule calculator does it across all 165 items.
In the app, go to Account > Edit Profile > Delete Account. That removes the account and the profile attached to it. Deleting the app alone does not delete the account — the two are separate.
No. The one-voucher-per-transaction rule covers app offers too: "Sorry, no. One voucher per transaction." The only reward that stacks is the Jack's Cafe loyalty coffee. The voucher rules are set out in full here.
No. The Penny Pinchers range and the Super Stunner bundles are permanent menu prices available at the counter with nothing installed. The app adds 5 deals on top of those, plus the daily prize.
