It is the hotter sibling of the Smoky Chipotle Angus, and the difference is in the sauce rather than the build. Where the Smoky version leads with the smoked note and lets the heat sit behind it, this one pushes the chilli forward. Both carry crispy jalapenos; this one carries more of them and a hotter sauce underneath.
Sodium is the number where this version wins: 962mg, the lowest of any burger in the Grill Masters range and remarkably low for a burger with double bacon in it. Carbs at 33.6g are also modest. Protein is 46g.
At 3,365 kJ it is one of the heavier single patty Grill Masters burgers, driven by 54.4g of fat and 23g of saturated fat. The Angus patty and the double bacon account for most of that.
Heat wise it sits above the Angry Whopper and below the Peri Peri tenders, which makes it the hottest burger on the Hungry Jack's menu without being uncomfortable. The cheese and the fat in the patty both soften the chilli, so it reads as warm rather than fierce.
Who it suits: anyone who wants the hottest burger on the board with a proper Angus patty underneath it. It is also the lowest sodium option in the range, which is an unusual combination with heat.
